The 2nd workshop, in our on going efforts to determine the future and to create a specific focus for the Southern Maryland Food Council will be held on October 18th, 2016. The workshop begins at 1 p.m.  and will be located at the Southern Maryland Food Bank (22 Irongate Drive Waldorf, MD 20602).

The Southern Maryland Food Council brings together diverse stakeholders to integrate critical aspects of the regional food system in order to sustain and enhance the environmental, economic, social and nutritional health and sustainability of Southern Maryland.

Any interested member of the community is welcome to attend SMFC meetings [including committee meetings], to participate in ongoing projects, to join in general discussions and to bring ideas before the Council.

If you are interested in attending or becoming a member of the Council, read through our Food Council New Member Packet and contact SMFC.

Initial resources, staff support and funding to create and launch the Southern Maryland Food Council were provided by the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission [SMADC].
