MAY 17, 2014: Results of the First Foodways Networking Event
The first Foodways Networking event was well attended and the attendees requested to go forward with small groups, and also have a second Foodways Networking event in the fall. The schedule of the small groups will be posted soon. More information will be posted about the second Foodways Networking event.
APRIL 2, 2014: Food Issues in Southern Maryland…Join the Discussion
Come meet other people interested in diverse food-related issues at an evening of lively discussion hosted by the Southern Maryland Food Council. Topics may include community and/or school gardens, environmental impacts of food systems, childhood obesity and disease, nutrition education, recycling, farming, natural foods and remedies, and more.
The event features an optional networking session from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and focused round-table discussions from 7 to 9 p.m., giving participants an opportunity to share their unique interest and experiences, and make connections towards resolving food issues together.
The free event will be held on Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 at the Waldorf Jaycees building in Charles County, MD (3090 Crain Highway, Waldorf, MD, 20604).
